BBQ Turkey Meatballs {Bacon Wrapped and Glazed!}

Turkey thighs are freshly ground to make the best bbq turkey meatballs ever!

Ingredients
  

  • 3 lbs Ground Turkey Thighs skin on
  • 1/2 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs 3 pounds ground turkey thighs (with skin)1/2 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs.1 large egg1 tablespoon Dijon mustard1 tablespoon hot sauce1 teaspoon salt1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp Louisiana hot sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 6 strips bacon
  • 1/2 cup pepper jelly

Instructions
 

  • Mix the ground turkey with the bread crumbs, eggs, mustard, hot sauce, salt and pepper.
  • Form the meat mixture into meatballs about the size of a golf ball.
  • Cut the bacon strips in half.
  • Wrap each meatball with bacon and secure with a toothpick.
  • Smoke the meatballs at 275F for 30 minutes.
  • Melt the pepper jelly in a microwave.
  • Brush each meatball with the melted pepper jelly.
  • Continue smoking until the meatballs reach an internal temperature of 165F.

Notes

These bbq turkey meatballs are a great appetizer that bring an amazing amount of flavor to the party. 
You can use pre-ground turkey if you don't feel like grinding your own but make sure the meat is 85:15.  You cannot make a decent meatball with ultra lean ground turkey.
