[CHEAP!] Pellet Grill Smoked Sirloin Tip Roast
Welcome back to the land of smoking cheap meats for amazing barbecue!
Dry Rub Recipe
Here is a dry rub I'm loving lately:
– 2 Tbsp table salt
– 2 Tbps black pepper
– 2 tsp chili powder
– 1/2 tsp Accent (MSG)
Season the Sirloin Tip
Season both sides of the beef with plenty of rub and then let it rest at room temperature for at least 30 minutes and up to an hour.
Prepare Your Pellet Grill
Turn on your grill and set the temp to 225F.
Place a foil pan with 2-3 cups of hot water on the lower cooking grate along with a six inch smoke tube filled with smoldering pellets.
I was working with a 2.5 pound roast and I wanted it to be Medium Rare (135F) and this took two hours.
Is it done?
After two hours start checking the internal temperature of the roast with a digital thermometer and pull from the grill when your desired target temperature is reached.
Carve the Smoked Sirloin Tip
When it's finished, remove it from the grill and let it rest under a foil tent.
Then, slice it up and serve it any way you like!
